     Generally, traffic court waivers may only be used for "minor" traffic citations.  Serious traffic offenses such as death by motor vehicle or drivivng while impaired (dwi) are criminal court matters.    

     Criminal court waivers may only be utilized by the defense attorney after receiving no objection from the prosecutor and permission from the court

Waivers are legal documents signed by the client giving the attorney authority to act in Court without the client being present.  This includes pleading not guilty, guilty,  and/or negotiating settlements.
